Susie Glass, LEED AP® Project Manager

Susie Glass currently serves as Project Manager for the Metro 1 Green Building Resource Center.  Glass currently serves as the Communications Chair for the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) South Florida Chapter’s Miami Dade and the Keys Branch. Ms. Glass is LEED Accredited Professional and was the youngest as well as the first female ‘real estate’ industry professional to earn this designation in 2008. In addition, Ms. Glass is a member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Natural Resource Committee and sub-committees, including the South Florida Sustainable Awards and the Going Green Task Force. Ms. Glass is also on the Board of Directors for Environmental News and Views Magazine in addition to being a contributing writer.

Ms. Glass is an active real estate professional serving the greater Miami area. After serving as the Vice President of Marketing at Metro 1 Properties for four years, Glass resigned to focus on practicing real estate brokerage sales and leasing in the urban core of Miami. Ms. Glass continues to spearhead the sustainable initiatives and programming for Metro 1 Properties, which regularly hosts seminars, training and networking events for the green building community. Ms. Glass is a member of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Members and is CRB candidate, in addition to being a contributing writer to the CRB’s Management Issues & Trends publication.

Ms. Glass is very active in the community and has participated in numerous committees from WWF Earth Hour to the City of Miami’s Gateway to Green in addition to attending a wide range of seminars, including but not limited to Greenbuild Conference 2008 & 2009 in Boston, MA, and Phoenix, AZ, CCIM Introduction to Commercial Investment Real Estate Analysis, RAMB’s Essentials of Commercial Real Estate, RAMB’s Green Building Movement, & Real Estate & Wealth Expo. Ms. Glass is also a Certified Green Real Estate Professional (GCREP-GL) and earned many certificates of completion including Funding Green Buildings to the CMP Green Building Underwriting Standard. Glass studied Environmental Studies at Miami-Dade College and Philosophy/Economics at Florida International University.

Carl Hildebrand, Green Building Initiatives Manager

Mr. Hildebrand is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he developed his interest in Latin American Political Science, International Studies and Geography.  Mr. Hildebrand completed his graduate work from American University’s School of International Service studying the dynamics of European Union integration and expansion. During his time at American University he studied abroad to Oxford University, Trinity College and Caux, Switzerland.

In 2006, Mr. Hildebrand joined the United States Green Building Council South Florida Chapter where he formerly acted as Program Chair and developed an interest in energy, environmental design and real estate. Carl is known as “The Green Broker” with a commitment to smarter choices for better living in South Florida which led to projects like Green Flamingos (Green business forum), South Florida Green Business Guide, the Green Office at CASADECOR, Earth Dance Film Festival, and EcoDesign Fair. Mr. Hildebrand is currently an instructor for the upcoming NAR Green Realtor Designation which is slated to launch later in 2009.

Sebastian Eilert, AIA, LEED AP®, Program Instructor

Mr. Eilert is a registered Architect and Interior Designer in the State of Florida as well as a US Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional.

Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany he moved to the United States in 1996 to attend the University of Miami, School of Architecture. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Minor in Business Law.
Mr. Eilert has been practicing in Miami, Florida since 1998 with an initial project focus on luxury custom home design and construction. He moved to The Architectural Partnership to increase his knowledge in the practices of architecture, contract administration and construction management. As an Associate of the firm he managed various multi million dollar school and public agency projects as well as numerous continuing service contracts.
To focus on his professional interest of the practice and theory of sustainable design and construction, he founded Sebastian Eilert Architecture (SEA) in 2006.

Mr. Eilert has been involved in the local green building community since 2002 and is a founding member of the US Green Building Council – South Florida Chapter where he served as Vice-president of the board of directors and Chair of the Membership Committee. As an active member of the American Institute of Architects he is also Chair of the Miami Chapter Committee on the Environment (COTE).

His European upbringing and background as well as his professional experience combined with the US academic education allow for a unique approach and understanding of sustainable issues in the local construction industry.

Long term involvement in the South Florida building community has allowed Mr. Eilert to gain experience in green concepts and he has compiled a unique library relevant to local market conditions. He received the AIA Miami 2005 Historic Preservation award for his efforts.

Tony Cho, Founder

Cho is president, founder and broker of Metro 1 Properties and is a native Floridian from Vero Beach. Mr. Cho attended Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where he studied International Relations/Political Science and was a founding member of The Next Generation for the Council for the Parliament of the World’s Religions. Cho is an avid supporter of the arts and philanthropic efforts through The River Fund, Feed Everyone Program and the Non-Violence project. Cho is a member of IADC, ICSC, CCIM, GRI, ULI and the USGBC. In addition, Mr. Cho is on the Board of Directors for the National Green Energy Council. Tony earned his GRI Certificate (Graduate Realtor Institute) in 2007 and is currently a CCIM candidate. Currently serves as president of the board of directors for the Non-Violence Project, a 501c3 not- for- profit organization whose mission is to educate and advocate policy change to prevent youth violence.
